Soccer is a dangerous game
Soccer is supposed to be a game played by gentlemen but apparently it is increasingly getting hijacked by thugs and hooligans.
The same thugs who after kicking an opponent and breaking him in half would go on to condemn the player he just flattened as not being manly enough and not having the guts to play the physical aspect of the game.
I am gutted.
I was in tears upon looking at the severity of Arsenal's 19 year old midfielder Aaron Ramsey when he went down in a heap. Crying out for help as he lay in anguish, not daring to look at his feet. When he went down after a rough tackle, I saw all the other players putting their hands on their head....some tearing and some being unable to look at the extent of his injury. Even Vermaelen, our tough defender could not help but be emotionally distraught and had to be consoled by the other players in the team. Players who have seen this all too familiar sight before. Players who were there 2 years ago when Eduardo saw his legs broken by a malicious tackle.
We did not buckle under this pressure. Many teams use this rough approach to stifle our style of play but let me tell you something. With all this experience, they will not only be stronger but come May, they will be crowned Champions.
